Ford Craiova resumes production and goes back to work. Also, Dacia has gradually restarted assembly on the industrial platform in Mioveni.
Ford will produce face masks to be used in all its factories around Europe. The face masks have to be worn by anyone who works at Ford or visits, according to the company’s global protocols. Ford Craiova also produces its own visors, ensuring extra protection for certain operations.
In Craiova, Ford is planning on restarting production in small steps, in a single shift. This is happening in the Vehicle Assembly Factory and in the Engine Factory starting from May 4th 2020. Employees will be announced by their team leader who has to show up to work. The ones who do not need to come will remain in technical unemployment based on a formal decision.
Based on volunteering, production in the two factories of Dacia Pitesti (Engine and Chassis Factory and Vehicle Factory) has also been resumed starting from April 21st.
During the entire period in which production was stopped, measures have been taken in order to make the employees’ return safe. These masures relate to hygiene and safety and will be strictly enforced.
