Recently, the Austrian Alps were host to dozens of classic cars, true technical jewels, gathered for the Arlberg Classic Car Rally, 2018 edition. For three days, between June 28th – July 1st, the four-wheeled vintage stars compete on the fairytale roads of this wonderful „corner of heaven” in Austria and for the first time entering Switzerland.
Oldtimers covering almost the entire history of the auto industry (about 40 cars, out of 125, registered for the interwar category) up to the the 70s started in Lech am Arlberg. The competition runs along the entire Tyrol area, following the Lech River, visiting the lakes and some castles of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, to the famous Bregenzer Wald forest. The end is marked through a gala evening, suitable for a special event.
We invite you to review the photo gallery below, most taken during the run-up to the competition in parc ferme and at the start area. You will discover an extraordinary collection of valuable colector cars, such as the Bugatti and Bentley 4.5L Le Mans Open Tourer produced in the 20s, the Porsche 356 Speedster in the 50s, the Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Convertible in the 60s or Alfa Romeo Montreal in the 70s.
