The low-cost Romanian brand has a busy schedule in the years to come, with numerous new releases. The most important news are planned in the second half of this year, when the new generation of Sandero and Logan will be presented. This will be followed, in 2021, by the first electric model from Dacia, called Spring.
The last important news from Dacia was the second generation of Duster, presented at the end of 2017. Then some special editions were announced, but never manufactured, because sales went well, with a record of more than 730.000 units. Things will change in the next three years, because several news in the program were announced:
- Summer 2020, Lodgy 2 and Dokker 2 (new generation)
- Autumn 2020, Logan 3 and Sandero 3 (new generation)
- Spring 2021, Logan 3 MCV (new generation)
- Spring 2021, Spring (new model)
- Beginning of 2022, Duster 2 facelift
Clearly, the most awaited news from Dacia will be the first 100% electric model of the brand, which promises to be the cheapest in Europe in its category. Derived from Renault K-ZE, which was released last year in China, Spring will be a small-urban vehicle close in size to a Twingo’s, but with the look… of an SUV! It will have 4 seats and an autonomy by WLTP cycle of 200 km. It will be a mostly urban vehicle, with a price between 10.000 and 15.000 euros, ideal as a second family car.
Duster 2 facelift is thought to have a new light signature in the back, with the shape of two Y letters. Besides this, there are not many news related to the design of the SUV. New equipments and engines are expected, including a hybrid version, maybe even E-Tech technology, from Renault.
Unfortunately, Duster will not have a 7 person version, but there will be a pick-up called Oroch, available for the South American market.
